What does the treatment involve?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular facial treatment designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving you smoother, more youthful-looking skin. The procedure involves the use of tiny, fine needles to inject a muscle relaxant into targeted areas, temporarily smoothing out dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expressions. The treatment is quick, typically taking 15-30 minutes, and requires minimal downtime. Results are visible within a few days, with effects lasting for several months. When will I see results?
Results can typically be seen within 2-4 days after treatment, with full effects visible in 12-14 days. Keep in mind that anti-wrinkle injections are not permanent and generally require touch-ups every 3-4 months, depending on individual factors. The recommended dose may vary based on muscle strength and the severity of the lines.
Who is not suitable for this treatment?
- If you are pregnant (or trying to get pregnant).
- If you are Breastfeeding.
- Under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
- If the treating Nurse feels that the patient should not be treated, they are able to refuse treatment based on their medical judgement.
- Any patients under the age of 18 years (even with a parents written consent).
Pre and Post Aftercare
- Arrive with no make up before the appointment and wait 24 hours post treatment to apply.
- No strenuous exercise 24 hours before and after treatment.
- Unless recommended by your medical doctor, try avoid blood-thinning medication (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil etc) one week before treatment.
- Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours pre and post treatment.
- Do not lie down for 4 hours post treatment (this may alter the effect of the product placement).
- Don’t touch the injection sites for 12 hours immediately following treatment to minimise the risk of infection transmitted from hands.
- Don’t massage the treatment area for 24 hours.
